Christmas Layouts

Finally I have something to share again! I've made these Christmas layouts weeks ago but couldn't take a picture of them because our camera broke down again : ( It's a good thing that my friend, Iris is generous enough to lend me her SLR!

Did you notice that the papers I've used are from old collections? I know most of us still have old Christmas papers that we haven't used for while. Don't be afraid to mix and match them with the new ones or with other collections as well.

Enjoy your Christmas!

Teresa Collins' Celebrate

I've had these papers from Teresa Collins for quite awhile. I tried finishing this layout for months until I've totally forgotten about it. The project was shelved for more than a year and finally got done a week ago.

Here's Ethan celebrating his 4th birthday. A few days from now, he's turning 8! I will be emotional again as I realize more and more each day that our children will only be babies for awhile.

Supplies used: patterned paper - Teresa Collins' Celebrate (Cupcakes, Tags and Pendants), October Afternoon (monster); spray mist - Tattered Angels, chipboard - Chatterbox and Bella Blvd, Vintage spool - Pink Pasilee, buttons - Fancy Pants; others - pen, ribbons and twine

Everyday Happiness

Our life isn't perfect and this layout is a proof of that. These are random photos taken during the first half of the year, mostly taken when we didn't have any househelp.

- Ethan homeschooling on the bed while I put Erin to sleep
- Our pile of laundry and was waiting for me : )
- Playing at the elevator's mirror
- Simple pleasures like cooking fried oreos and topping it with ice cream and cornflakes for our merienda (snack)
- Doing artwork
- "Harutan" with daddy
- Waking up early in the morning and being greeted by a beautiful view at the balcony

We love our life even though it is never perfect!

Too late when I realized that the word, "Saturday" dropped while I was taking a photo of my layout.

Polaroids don't always have to be used as a photo frame. You can top it with any embellishments!

This is my 6th layout from the Echo Park Sweet Day kit : ) Tips in making this layout: Use the "days of the week" from the Journaling Cards paper for "A Week In the Life" page or any "Everday Life" page. For this layout, I gathered random photos taken during the first half of the year. I just inserted the days of the week on each photo, but honestly I didn't even check whether it happened on that particular day : )

Echo Park Sweet Day

Last September 29, 2012, I conducted my 2nd class for this year at Lasting Impression.

Thanks to those who attended the class!

Nothing went to waste as all of the kit's content has been used up for the class! Check out how we used the cover sheet, the twine's scraps, the bottom strips of each paper and even the plastic container of the kit!

We also used 4 different base for the layouts for a different look each page.

 Almost One
For the first layout, I used a busy patterned paper as the base. To separate the base from the photo, I used a big photo mat. I also used a photo which doesn't have a busy background.
(Note: Buttons used in this layout are not part of the kit.)

Here's My Number ...
The two small strips on each side are from the bottom strips of the patterned paper.
(Note: Buttons and letters used in this layout are not part of the kit.)

 "Four"
Can you see the cover sheet? I used it as base for the photos.
(Note: Mini buttons used in this layout are not part of the kit.)

Some of the flowers here were cut from the cover sheet.

Recreate this butterfly on your layouts, as an alternative to buttons, you can use small brads or blings instead.

 Sweet Kuya Ethan
One of my all time favorite base is black cardstock. Black can make papers and photos pop!

I wrapped the buttons using the kit's plastic container!
(Note: The Fancy Pants buttons are part of the kit)

The "sprinkles" are from the small pieces of twine.

As an alternative to these buttons, you can also use mini brads or blings.
( Note: the mini buttons are not part of the kit)

 Ark Avilon Zoo
(Note: the letters used in this layout are not part of the kit)

cute bee brad from Karen Foster (still available at the store; other shapes are also available)
(Note: Karen Foster brads are part of the kit)

Thanks for looking at my layouts! Happy weekend!

Sharing some layouts I created for Lasting Impression months ago. I used Echo Park Hello Summer Collection. To date, I created 4 layouts but the kit is still full of papers for more layouts! I really wish I could sit and scrap more often.

Thanks for dropping by today! Hope you're inspired to scrap!

Happy scrappin'!

Echo Park Sweet Day Class Sneak Peek (Part 1)

Hi there everyone! I'm sharing with you the details and sneak peek of my upcoming class. I'd like to thank those who have already signed up/confirmed.

What: Echo Park Sweet Day Class
When: September 29, 2012 (Saturday), 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Where: Lasting Impression Store, 216-D V. Ibanez Street, San Juan, Metro Manila
Class Fee: P 1,200 (Fee doesn't include meals. For lunch and snacks, you can order through delivery. Kindly arrange for your own meals.)
Class Kit includes: Sweet Day Collection (12 pcs. of patterned paper, 1 sheet of letter stickers, 1 sheet of Element stickers); 4 pcs. of cardstock; a mix of embellishments from Fancy Pants (buttons and pins), Karen Foster and some baker's twine.

Our goal for this class is to create and finish 5 layouts within the day. My hope is for you to create with ease and in a more relaxed manner thus, we are starting earlier than the usual. The class is not technique driven and can be done by beginner and advanced scrapbookers. If we are lucky enough to finish the 5 layouts, then, we can proceed with some bonus layouts! The kit contains papers and stickers that are good for more than 5 layouts!

For the additional/bonus layouts (if we finish early), I would ask you to bring extra cardstock, photos and other embellishments that you may want to add on your layouts.

If you've been following my blog/works, you can probably tell how I love bright and colorful layouts. Those are what we will be creating! My style would be evident throughout all of the layouts! It'll be a fun and sweet day, I assure you! : )

We love twine, don't we? So, in this class, we will be using baker's twine in different ways ...

Buttons are staples in my layouts so we would be using them as well.

In this class, we will be creating layouts using photos that we seldom use. How about square photos (3"x3" or 4"x4", etc.), 5"x7" or even larger, or your photo booth photos? I'm sure we all want to try something different once in awhile : ) If you can't bring square photos, wallet sizes would be an alternative.

To cut on the cost of the class kit, I would be asking the participants to bring additional materials/embellishments. Don't worry though, the additional embellishments are basically what you have already such as buttons, brads and twine. Even though, they'll be provided, it'll be nice to add more : ) In any case that you don't have those, Lasting Impression are selling those embellishments in reasonable and sometimes sale prices : )

There will be lots of cutting so please bring your sharp scissors.

Themes for each layout is not limited to feminine themes. What I love about the Sweet Day Collection is that it's versatile enough to be used for male/boys despite it having soft and subdued colors. So please be ready with your photos that would match the papers. Sizes and quantities to follow on my next post and sneak peek.

To sign up/ reserve a slot for my class, please email me at pia_zobel_lopez@yahoo.com or text/call me at 0917-8052177.

Thanks! Hoping to see you on my class!
